Warranties and Repairs

We take personal pride in our products and your satisfaction is our primary concern. All items sold on the Culmer Pen website are delivered with the standard international manufacturer warranty, outlined below by brand. Should an item become defective not as a result of normal wear and tear and/or mishandling by the consumer & you wish to proceed with a repair, please follow the instructions below. There is a $15 Service & Handling Charge per item, which includes the return of your pen(s) to the address provided. If charges apply to repairs that are not covered under the standard warranty a Culmer representative will contact you to advise of any additional charges.

We accept repairs from the following brands:

Culmer: Lifetime Mechanical Warranty covering all manufacturers defects & mechanical failure. Damage caused by misuse, abuse and/or negligence is not covered under warranty


 

Cross: All Cross writing instrument mechanisms are unquestionably guaranteed against mechanical failure, regardless of age. Mechanical failure is defined as a defective product or a product unable to write as a result of construction or workmanship when used in accordance with the Care & Use Instructions. Culmer shall have the right to determine if the item is defective and have the option to repair or replace it with a similar or equivalent item.

Exclusions from warranty include: Normal wear and tear, stains, discolorations or scratches. Pen clips that have become bent or broken off. Damage caused by any accident, fire, theft, flood, or other causes beyond our control. Damage caused by ink leaks to textiles, apparel or other personal property. Damage caused by misuse, abuse and/or negligence. Damage resulting from repairs or manipulations carried out by unauthorized or non-qualified repair/service personnel. Leads, erasers and ink refills exhausted in the course of normal use, damaged fountain pen nibs, emblems and other customized decorations. Damage caused by the use of refills or ink cartridges other than those produced by Cross.

Sheaffer: Lifetime Mechanical Warranty. All Sheaffer writing instruments are unquestionably guaranteed against mechanical failure. Any SHEAFFER product or part requiring service under this warranty will be repaired or replaced. Any such product that is no longer in production and cannot be repaired will be replaced with a comparable SHEAFFER product. Leads, erasers, ink refills and stylus tips exhausted in the course of normal use, are excluded from this warranty; also excluded are fountain pen nibs and other parts damaged from impact, unreasonable use or obvious abuse, as well as wear & aging discolouration. The SHEAFFER guarantee extends our assurance of a lifetime of writing pleasure to every owner of a SHEAFFER writing instrument.


 

Retro 51: Limited One Year Warranty to the original consumer for a period of one year from the date of purchase that the unit is free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty is void if the pen has been damaged by accident, negligence, unauthorized service or other factors not due to defects in materials or workmanship.


 

Pelikan: The warranty for material and production defects is three (3) years from date of purchase. Culmer Pen is not authorized to handle Pelikan repairs – please contact Chartpak, Inc. at 1-800-628-1910 for all information pertaining to your repair.


 

Instructions:

  1. Download the Culmer Pen Repair Order Form, fill out the pertinent information and print it. If you do not have a printer, please write all the required information on a sheet of paper. Place your pen (please do not send gift boxes) and your completed Repair Form in a padded envelope. We recommend that customers obtain insurance against loss or damage when shipping products to Culmer. Without proof of shipment, we cannot replace or repair product we do not receive. All shipping & insurance costs to send repairs are the responsibility of the consumer.
